SERVICES

PET WELLNESS EXAMS
As caring owners, you want the very best for your pet. That’s why we encourage you to schedule annual wellness examinations. By seeking to prevent problems before they arise, you are ensuring your pet extended health and happiness.

VETERINARY DIAGNOSTIC LABS
At North Yarmouth Veterinary Hospital, we are fully committed to your pet’s health and happiness. That’s why we recommend bringing them in for regular blood screening and fecal testing. By doing so, we will be able to treat issues before they arise. We offer a full spectrum of in-house and reference lab testing through IDEXX Laboratories.

SOFT TISSUE SURGERY
We are proud to offer in-house surgical care for soft tissue procedures. We offer spay and neuter services, mass removals, and more. Please reach out if you have questions regarding your pets surgical needs.

ILLNESS CARE
We understand that dealing with a sick pet can be stressful. We strive to provide timely examinations, and diagnostics to get to the root of the problem. We offer many treatment options in-hospital, and through our pharmaceutical options that we carry onsite and can send home the same day. If your pet needs more advanced or specialty care, we partner with local referral hospitals to get them where they need to be.

RADIOLOGY
Our in-house digital radiology system allows us to provide rapid results for your pet's imaging needs. This allows us to get more done during your visit and minimize stress as much as possible.

DENTAL CARE
Routine dental care is as essential to our pets' health as it is to our own. We offer dental cleaning services along with dental radiographs and extractions if needed. Surgical extractions can also be performed. Through dental care, we can ensure your pet's mouth stays healthy and pain free.

Hospital Policies
Availability of Veterinary Care: North Yarmouth Veterinary Hospital (NYVH) operates from Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm on an appointment-based schedule. We do not see emergencies or walk-ins. We do our best to accommodate as many patients as we can, occasionally we may be at capacity and may refer you to a local urgent care or emergency clinic (whichever best fits after phone triage). Urgent care recommendations would be PetMedic Portland or PetMedic Freeport. In case of an emergency, we would recommend Maine Veterinary Medical Center or Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care.
Client communication/patient reminders: All of your pet’s reminders are sent solely via email. We also communicate via text. If you have opted out, or unsubscribed from our emails, you will NOT get reminders for your pets upcoming vaccines. We kindly ask that you subscribe to our email address to continue receiving the reminders.
Vaccine Policy: In accordance with Maine State Law, North Yarmouth Veterinary Hospital requires each pet being seen in hospital to be vaccinated with a Rabies vaccine unless medically exempt. If your pet is not up to date on a Rabies vaccine, we do require it to be done at the time of their appointment.
Appointment Cancelation/No-Show Policy: We understand that plans can unexpectedly change and you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If so, please call or text us at 207-489-9488 or email us at northyarmouthvet@gmail.com 24 hours prior to your appointment. Missed appointments take time away from other pets who could have benefitted from that visit. In saying that, after two "no-show" appointments, we will require an exam fee deposit prior to scheduling your next appointment. That deposit will go toward your appointment costs but if another no-show occurs the deposit will be non-refundable.
Because we operate on an appointment only schedule, if you arrive more than 10 minutes late to your appointment you may be asked to reschedule. This is a courtesy to our other clients as well to keep appointments running on schedule.
Payment Policy: Payment is due in full at the time the services are rendered. Acceptable payment methods include cash, debit/credit cards and checks: if a check is returned, there will be a $20 fee added to the balance. We do not currently accept Care Credit. Estimates are available upon request prior to any services rendered.
These policies will be revisited and updated as needed.
We are so grateful for the support you all have given to North Yarmouth Veterinary Hospital!
